I am mum to Annabelle and Charlotte, who are the source of my inspiration for the themes for the sleepovers. Carl, my husband stands by my side cheering me on even though I am taking up the house with the business! I first started looking at creating my own business in June 2019, trying to find something to occupy my time once my youngest went to school. After seeing an ad for sleepover parties I fell in love with the concept and set about creating my own business. I launched in September 2019 and have loved every minute since. Even though Coronavirus has put a temporary halt on the business, I didn’t let it stop me – instead I researched and adapted to become ‘Covid-secure’ and offer new services.

First came the contactless garden party and then the bell tent, to bring something exciting to households in lockdown! It’s been incredibly fun to bring my themes to life outdoors creating a real feel for the jungle or a magical night away right in your back garden! I like to constantly look for new ways to help children celebrate and right now there is definitely a demand for smaller parties so with this in mind I decided to come up with a new concept – the Picnic with a Princess – to bring some magic to a picnic. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next. Coronavirus has changed how parents want to celebrate birthdays and I am happy to evolve and be there to bring parties to life!

In September JustJimJams was given the ‘highly commended’ award for New Business of the Year by The Sheffield Star Small Business Awards 2021. This was pretty huge for such a small business like mine who was up against bigger small businesses and was such an amazing achievement.
